Kick Scooter Sydney

About Kick Scooter Sydney

Kick Scooter Sydney is an independent guide for people who ride kick scooters in Sydney and NSW, and for parents of young riders. We publish plain-language guides in three areas: rules, covering where you can ride, road riding, e-scooters and path etiquette; safety, covering helmets, protective gear, kids and scooters, and falls; and buying and care, covering choosing a scooter, commuting, maintenance and e-scooter battery safety. Our free ride checker shows what the general NSW rules say for your scooter, place and time of day.

Why we exist

This web address was once used by a scooter retailer, which later moved its business elsewhere. We have no connection to that business, any brand it sold or any previous operator. Scooters are everywhere in Sydney, but the rules for kick scooters and e-scooters are often confused, and good safety advice is spread across many official sources. We want to bring it together clearly.

How we work

We write every guide in our own words, based on official sources such as Transport for NSW, the NSW Road Rules 2014, the NSW Government's e-scooter pages, Fire and Rescue NSW, the ACCC's Product Safety Australia, the Better Health Channel and Raising Children Network. We list our sources on each page. We never invent statistics, fines, prices, reviews or quotes, and we don't review, rank or recommend scooters, brands or shops.

Independence

Kick Scooter Sydney (kickscootersydney.com.au) is an independent information site. We are not a scooter shop, hire company, government agency or safety authority, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by any organisation named on this site, any previous operator of this domain, or any organisation with a similar name.

General information only

Our guides are general information, not legal or medical advice. Road rules and e-scooter trials change, and local signs override general rules, so check the current rules with Transport for NSW. In an emergency, call Triple Zero (000).

Feature your business

If you run a genuine scooter, bike or safety-gear business, a repair shop or a riding skills program and want to reach our readers, see feature your business. Featured listings are always clearly labelled and never affect what our guides say.
